Development projects worth SR7 billion launched in Hail

King arrives in Riyadh after Qassim, Hail visit

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects in Hail on Thursday. Later, the King arrived in Riyadh from Hail after a three-day regional tour that also took him to Al-Qassim. Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, also attended the functions.

King Salman received on Thursday afternoon people of Hail region at Aja Palace in Hail city. During the reception, the Monarch inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a total of 259 projects worth over SR7 billion. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Saad, emir of Hail, said that the following ministries benefited from the projects. Ministry of the National Guard (projects worth SR1.1billion); Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (projects costing SR1.25 billion); Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (SR 959 million); Ministry of Housing (SR922 million); Ministry of Education (SR709 million); Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (SR1.87 billion); Ministry of Transport (SR 295 million); and Supreme Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SR74 million).

King Salman, who arrived in Hail from Al-Qassim on Wednesday, attended a public reception hosted by the people of Hail region Wednesday night. Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Saad and several princes, ministers and high ranking officials were also present at the reception held at Al-Mighwat Park in the city. Speaking on the occasion, the emir of Hail said that the people of Hail are overjoyed on the auspicious occasion of the visit of the King and the Crown Prince to the region.

Prominent poet Najm Al-Aslami recited a poem and Naif Al-Muhailib, president of the Literary and Cultural Club in Hail, spoke on the occasion, greeting the King on behalf of the people of Hail. Then, the Monarch witnessed an operetta titled ‘Salman of Hope’ and presented prizes to a number of distinguished figures who brought laurels to the region in diverse fields. The traditional Ardah Sword dance was performed on the occasion. — SG/SPA
