GSA: King Salman Tennis Championships postponed

November 10, 2018

RIYADH — The General Sports Authority (GSA) announced on Friday the postponement of the King Salman Tennis Championship match between Spanish former No. 1 Rafael Nadal and the current No. 1 Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.

The matchup has been postponed due to the recent injury of Nadal, which forced him to withdraw from the recent ATP event and also undergo immediate surgery.

Nadal’s recovery time does not allow for the scheduled match to take place on Dec. 22, hence the event will be rescheduled, the GSA said in a statement.

The General Sports Authority will announce the new dates of the championship in due course and, in the interim, wishes the tennis champion Nadal a speedy recovery. — SG
