Prosecutor’s findings show leadership's keenness on achieving justice: Al-Awwad

RIYADH — Minister of Media Dr. Awwad Al-Awwad affirmed Thursday that the statement issued by the Public Prosecution regarding the case of Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi shows the leadership's keenness on achieving justice, clarifying the truth and punishing the culprits.

Al-Awwad stressed that the issuance of the statement has allowed the picture has become clear to whoever seeks the truth while reflecting on the firm Saudi approach in maintaining rights.

"Achieving justice and maintaining human life are a Saudi approach known to all people living in the Kingdom. In Khashoggi's case, which gained international dimensions, the Kingdom needs to send an important message to the whole world showing the Saudi firm pillars in achieving justice and maintaining human rights, which are guaranteed by Shariah and Kingdom’s regulations,” Al-Awwad said.

“This country is stable and secure, thanks to Allah Almighty and the keenness of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, on prohibiting assault against human life. The wise leadership stresses firm application of justice against the guilty," Al-Awwad added.

Al-Awwad said the painful details revealed by the Public Prosecution's statement are not familiar to the Saudi government and people, adding that the statement has put to a stop some wretched international attempts by unprofessional parties, people and media outlets to politicize the case while in reality the case is purely criminal. — SPA
