Riyadh — Justice Minister Waleed Al-Samaani announced on Sunday the official launch and operations of labor courts.
In the first phase, seven labor courts in Riyadh, Makkah, Jeddah, Abha, Dammam, Buraidah and Madinah will start operation. These courts will be in addition to 27 labor departments and nine other departments inside appeal courts across the Kingdom.
These courts and departments will be operating with 139 judges and 99 legal specialists.
Justice minister explained that the operation of labor courts is an important step toward boosting the local labor market as well as creating conducive investment climate to attract investments to the Kingdom in accordance with Vision 2030.
Labor courts will be fully digital. Judges who will work in these courts have been selected based on judiciary experience, knowledge and efficiency.
Al-Samaani said the shift and progress in the legal sector was due to the full support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense. He also expressed his appreciation for the help and support from the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and Labor Minister Ahmad Al-Rajhi.
The introduction of specialized labor courts will improve the performance of working teams inside these courts and will contribute to the development of the justice system, he added.
