Hospitals in the Kingdom mark World Quality Day

Leading hospitals in the Kingdom have marked World Quality Day to engage themselves further deep into patient care.

Quality Day is celebrated annually in November all over the world. The day was initiated to increase worldwide awareness of the important contribution that quality makes toward both organizational and national growth and prosperity.

King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah on Tuesday celebrated the World Quality day with the theme, “Quality is a matter of trust”.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Bakhsh, director general of the hospital, in his inaugural speech pointed out that the Ministry of Health is determined to apply quality system and its importance in the healthcare settings.

He said as a leading hospital in the city, KFH has been developing the culture of quality enhancement among its personnel, especially in the nursing sector.

Dr. Bakhsh said quality in services can be achieved only when quality in job and safety of patient is integrated further. He said innovative concept and a quest for quality is the need of the time in health care sector in the Kingdom.

Dr. Khawla Al-Sawaf, director of quality management in the hospital, said the hospital has been applying quality grading to all departments.

She said King Fahd Hospital is one of the prime health facilities in the governorate to achieve quality grading in jobs, reflecting skilled professional levels of its personnel.

The event included several lectures that focused on the concept of patient centered care in the hospital’s different departments such as surgery, nursing and orthopedics department.

The patron of the event inaugurated an accompanying exhibition.

Other hospitals also marked the event to reflect their efforts for the enhancement of quality in patient care.
