Clarity in perception can achieve any civil services post: Sheikh

JEDDAH — “Anyone ready to work hard with clarity in perception can achieve any civil services position, as it is not a hard nut to crack. Aspiring students can simultaneously focus on the stream of their choice and make their schedule to prepare for the examination, which would benefit them in their future,” said Indian Consul General Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh.

Sheikh delivered this intellectual instruction during his speech inaugurating the two-day workshop organized by MICS for students of various International Indian schools here to fulfill the competency development of the aspirants, based on the latest requirement of civil service examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of India.

He explained in detail about the various categories comprising the civil services and advised the aspiring students to work hard to achieve their ambitions and make full use of the workshop to prepare for getting into a reputable profession.

Quoting from his experience and citing examples, the consul general inspired the students while emphasizing that “It is not necessary to score very high marks, but basic knowledge and critical thinking is very important to get through the civil services examination.”

Ashraf Morayur, regional president of Indian Social Forum, Jeddah, presided over the session. He urged parents and students to fully benefit from the workshop and to plan studies, manage time and learn with the best teaching methods, as MICS has arranged the best professional as chief mentor for the program.

Eng. Abdul Majeed Badruddin, Patron of MICS Academy, speech was thought provoking for the attending students, who enjoyed interacting with him. He admired the students for their quick and correct response and assured them all support in achieving their goal of cracking the civil services.

The chief mentor & head of faculty KP Ashif introduced the workshop by addressing the parents. With multi-media support, he presented vital statistical data uncovering the competition that exists in employment sector in India and requested the parents to become well aware of the importance of higher academics and also the professional and financial benefits of taking up civil service as a profession.

Ashif explained the structure and pattern of civil services examination with all the details and updated information related to the preliminary and main examinations. He further explained about major Indian competitive examinations other than the civil service examination. Thanks to the technical support of Abu Sali, another faculty member and expert from a reputable civil services training institute, all the attending students were given the complete set of well prepared and updated notes that would enable them to prepare for civil services.

Later, Sheikh released a book “UPSC Essays — Solved Papers of 1993 — Till Date” compiled by P. Kamalkutty IAS and KP Ashif. Alungal Mohammed, chairman of Al Abeer Medical Group, received the copy.

Deputy Consul General Shahid Alam inaugurated the concluding session. Narrating incidents from his childhood, Alam gave a brief, but impressive speech, emphasizing consistency in studies to attain the goal of passing the civil service examination.

Fayazuddin, regional president, India Fraternity Forum), EM Abdullah, gen. secretary, Indian Social Forum, and Zakariya Ahmed Biladi, director, MICS Academy, Yousuf V, academician and advisor to MICS, also spoke. IISJ Head Master Noufal too addressed the gathering, reminding both, parents and students, about the importance of MICS 2018 and urged them to make full use of it.

Giving glimpses of his childhood and the advice of his parents, Dr. Ashfaq Maniyar, educationist and senior ophthalmologist in King Abdul Aziz University Hospital, Jeddah, urged the students to uphold the principles and advice that their parents convey as they can rely on them in shaping their future.

The program began with the recitation of verses from the noble Qur’an by Zaiyan Qamar Sada. Abdul Ghani welcomed the guests and Ali Koya proposed the vote of thanks. Azeem Zeeshan, Mohammed Mukhtar, Al Aman Ahmed compered the program. — SG
