The Council of Ministers hoped that the King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) project in the Eastern Province would propel the Kingdom’s position as a regional and global energy hub by developing a competitive Saudi industries and services sector at the international level.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman chaired the weekly session of the Cabinet at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.

Minister of the Media Awwad Al-Awwad said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet noted that SPARK would be instrumental in supporting Saudi Arabia’s strategic economic development initiatives, reflecting the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its operational programs.

Crown Prince inaugurated the King Salman Energy Park in the Eastern Province on Monday. The setting up of the 1st phase of SPARK will bring investment worth $1.6 billion.
