Wani and Ghulam fire Fonte to victory

RIYADH — Bila Wani’s 114 runs and Ghulam’s 5 wickets haul helped Fonte register a thumping victory over Punjab Stars in the AMEX Cricket Tournament, sponsored by American Express Saudi Arabia and organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA).

Huraymala League

Fonte defeated Punjab Stars by 90 runs. Fonte Star posted a total of 235-4. Bilal Wani played a stunning knock of 114 off just 62 balls. Adeel hit 84. Waqar grabbed 4 wickets. Punjab Stars were bowled out for 145 in 13.2 overs. Rustam’s 12 balls 38 was the only highlight of the innings. Ghulam picked up 5 wickets for 26 runs and Arif got 2.

AR Sports Green registered a victory over AR Sports Blue by 3 runs. Blue tallied 142. Abu Baker scored 39. Salman took 3 wickets, while Waqas and Aziz took 2 wickets each. AR Green made 143 in 18.2 overs. Mudassar (37), Aziz (23) and Khawar (24) led Green to a comfortable win.

Kohsar defeated Sialkot XI by 4 runs. Kohsar collected 162. Saqib top scored with 73 and Akif made 33. Sialkot XI managed 158. Nadeem batted brilliantly for 82 and Yasir scored 29. Arif claimed 4 wickets, while Saqib got 2.

Pak Force lost to Lahore Badshah Green by 2 wickets. Pak Force scored 170. Openers Fayaz and Mohsin hit 70 and 35, respectively. Atif took 3 wickets, wile Akram, Nazakat and Farman claimed 2 wickets each. Farman (48), Zeeshan (28) and Nazakat (24) took Badshah to victory in 19.4 overs. Hamza and Mudasir grabbed 2 wickets each.

Riyadh Warriors Blue thrashed Riyadh United by 8 wickets. United piled up 167. Zain (33), Shaikh (30) and Mohsin (25) batted well. Toufeeq took 3 wickets, while Altaf and Gayan got 2 each. Warriors chased down the target in 14.2 overs. Mubashir ensured an easy win by blasting 108 off just 46 balls.

Riyadh Zalmi humbled Riyadh Blues by 24 runs. Rizwan (57), Imran (54), Adnan (49) and Dilbar (47) took Zalmi to 221-4. Himayat and Naseer took 2 wickets each. Shahbaz’s 95 not out was not enough as Blues managed only 197 in reply. Sohail took 3 wickets and Adnan 2.

Hayer League

Kashmir XI won against Green Bangla. Green Bangla scored 193. Zakir played a cracking knock of 73. Shafat grabbed 3 wickets. Almgir, Amir and Fahad bagged 2 wickets each. Kashmir chased the target in 19.5 overs. Noor was dismissed for 99 but Amir scored 48. Mithun and Zakir got 2 wickets each.

Riyadh Fighters humbled VIP Holidays. Majid (63), Nusrat (53), Umar (35) and Haseeb (31) helped Fighters to post 228-4. Abid claimed 2 wickets. VIP Holidays scored 199 in reply. Irfan Sarfraz was the lone fighter with an incredible knock of 112 off 54 balls. Amir picked up 4 wickets and Yasir grabbed 3.

Asia United was defeated by Saudi Knights by 3 wickets. Asia United scored 163. Ghulam Nabi top scored with 43 and Ali made 27. Khurram, Rizwan and Shehzor bagged 2 wickets each. Saudi Knights won the match in 19.4 overs. Rizwan, Hadi and Imran scored 30, 37 and 30, respectively. Faraz claimed 3 wickets and Mohsin 2.

Swat Tigers cruised to victory over PTI Tigers by 7 wickets. PTI Tigers was bowled out for 92. Irfan was the top scorer with 17. Ihsan claimed 4 wickets. Qaiser got 2. Swat Tigers rushed to the target in 7 overs. Shahzad (48) and Umar (24) ensured a thumping win.

Asia XI flattened Raavi by 30 runs. Asia XI compiled 175-7. Mubashir remained not out on 67a and Adeel was caught on 47. Abu Baker picked up 5 for 29. Nadeem took 2 wickets. Raavi was restricted to 145. Arfan smashed 60. Sumon picked up 4 wickets and Allaudin took 3.
