Almarai and KFU honor Vet Award winners

Prof. Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Provost of King Faisal University “KFU” patronized the annual ceremony of the 10th Almarai Veterinarian Prize supervised by the Saudi Veterinary Association since its launch in 2009. The provost and Mr. Abdullah Al-Otaibi Almarai’s PR Manager handed over certificates of appreciation to the winners of the Prize branches this year in recognition by Almarai Company, King Faisal University, and the Saudi Veterinary Association for their glorious works and remarkable accomplishments in their domain.

Dr. Kazem bin Taher bin Ahmed Al-Mohammed and Dr.Hussain Al-Ghadeer won this year’s prize in Outstanding Veterinary Doctor in Communicable Diseases and Epidemiology category. Dr. Ali Al-Haji won the prize for Veterinary and Community Service category. Dr. Rola Hassan, from UAE, won the prize of GCC Outstanding Veterinarian category. Dr. Ahmed Al-Amri from the Sultanate of Oman and Dr. Salem Al-Hajri from the Sultanate of Oman won the prize in the distinguished GCC veterinarian category. Prof. Salama Ahmed Othman Mohamed and Dr. Ayman Abdulaziz Ibrahim Suwailam won the prize of distinguished veterinary researcher category.

On this occasion, Professor Al-Ohali, KFU Provost said that the ways of this giving homeland are ongoing in paying tribute to scholars and researchers who are distinguished academically and professionally. This bears witness to the keenness and care of our wise leadership of science and scientists.

Prof. Al-Ohali added that despite the several famous local, regional, and international awards, Almarai Veterinarian Award has a special fingerprint in underlining the scientific and professional face of veterinary medicine in Saudi Arabia and GCC with widespread regional fame.

On his part, Mr. Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Almarai’s Public Relations Manager, expressed his pleasure of the passage of 10 years since launching the prize. Al-Otaibi said that Almarai takes great pride and cherishment in being a major partner in this award, which is a national message, aiming to encouraging the veterinarians who are concerned with the safety and health of our animal resources thus promoting food security in Saudi Arabia and the GCC. Al-Otaibi lauded the good care accorded to the prize by the Saudi Veterinary Association and the Veterinary College, KFU primarily upgrading the award to a deserved status among research and scientific awards at the regional level.
