Ad Diriyah waves the world goodbye with happiness and rain

Al Riyadh - Media Center It was a beautiful sight, when darkness slowly engulfed the skies of Ad Diriyah and fans were seen leaving under the drizzling rain after a historic 3-day event, the Formula E 2018. This event, attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saturday evening, saw cultural and sporting events take place; most importantly the Ad Diriyah Formula E Race.

The competition’s final results were as follows: In first place came Da Costa (Portugal), then John Erick and Jerome Dapresio respectively. There were over 11 teams and 22 drivers competing over the 2.495km track.

The Ad Diriyah Formula E tournament also saw a great attendance from inside and outside Saudi Arabia, as well-known international travellers like Ester from Hong Kong and Zambriano from Brazil had a great experience at the event.

On the other side of the races, the audience was enjoying the musical acts on the Ad Diriyah stage. Enrique Iglesias, Jason DeRulo, Amro Diab and David Guetta were amongst the singers present, and so were popular bands like One Republic and Black Eyed Peas. The events were held from 7pm until midnight, with the goal of Saudi Arabia spreading peace and love across the world on show to all.

There were many other activities available too which involved food from all around the world, such as the food truck for more casual food and, in addition, many Najdi culture showings. For instance, the popular Dates in their different forms were available for the attendance. Moreover, there were “Henna” activities for women and “Bshoot” activities for men.

Meanwhile, the people who looked for art and innovation were wowed by the artists and their colourful displays. Furthermore, Saudi Arabian music was played loudly for lovers of Arabian music, followed by Saudi musicians who played on different instruments like the violin and piano.

Finally, Saudi Arabians broke the attendance record for such an event, with an increase in 300% of fans compared to previous events. On the other hand, foreigners were influenced by the cultural events and tried to immerse themselves further into the culture to a by wearing Saudi clothes or trying to speak Arabic.

These numbers and happenings proved the success of this event, which was further highlighted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman: “I live between wonderful people; they set a goal and achieve it quickly and with ease.
