MAKKAH — The Makkah Municipality has specified seven free minutes in paid parking for motorists before they are issued a ticket.

If a motorist leaves the vehicle in the parking area for more than seven minutes without paying, he or she will be fined accordingly. According to Makkah daily, an employee making rounds in the parking areas will photograph the plate numbers of vehicles parked without paying. If the car remained in the same parking slot without paying after seven minutes, the driver will be fined immediately.

Seven minutes is the internationally accepted limit for issuing tickets for violators of parking rules.
