GACA launches e-services for licensing drones

January 11, 2019

RIYADH – The General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) has launched its e-services for licensing the operation of drones, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Friday.

The new service adds to the comprehensive digital transformation of GACA’s services, under the motto “Easy licensing, safe flying”. The objective is to enhance awareness on the importance of registering and obtaining permits for drones.

GACA stressed that it is necessary for drone enthusiasts to obtain a permit from the Authority for operating their drones, as this is a basic requirement in the Kingdom.

This e-service comes as a result of GACA’s keenness to create a secure environment in line with international standards.

This comes within GACA’s efforts to organize the operation of drones and is in implementation of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The Authority has facilitated the registration and issuance of permits for operating drones via the website eaviation.gaca.gov.sa/uas. – SG/SPA
