Passports serve 8.3 million travelers in January

As many as 8,287,273 people traveled through the Kingdom›s airports and land and sea entry points in January, according to a statistical report issued by the Directorate General of Passports (Jawazat).

The report said 3,830,953 passengers arrived and departed through the Kingdom›s airports while 4,392,530 crossed through land border points. It said 63,790 people came and left by sea.

The Jawazat said its staff worked around the clock at all of the Kingdom›s entry and exit points to serve the travelers and process their documents.

«We are keen to provide the passengers with all the needed services and facilities,» it added.

The Jawazat said it was making strenuous efforts to upgrade the performance of its staff working at the border points and uplift their performance and productivity.

It said it was using the most modern technology to facilitate the arrival and departure of the pilgrims and visitors.

The Jawazat reiterated the staff were carrying out their duties with complete accuracy and transparency while not compromising on any security aspects.
