Al-Jubeir participates in Mideast peace and security conference

WARSAW — Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Cabinet member Adel Al-Jubeir has participated here on Thursday in the Ministerial Conference to Enhance the Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East, in the presence of Prince Khalid Bin Salman, Saudi ambassador to the US, Saudi Press Agency said Friday.

The conference, which was held with the participation of representatives from 70 countries, discussed regional crises and their effects on civilians in the Middle East, missile development and their proliferation, cyber security and emerging threats to the energy sector and countering extremism and illegal financing.

During the conference, Al-Jubeir reviewed the efforts and initiatives of Saudi Arabia in combating terrorism and extremism, pointing to the establishment of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) and the establishment of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), stressing the Kingdom's continuation of its leading role in this regard to ensure cooperation and coordination in supporting the international and regional efforts to undermine the terrorist organizations. — SPA
