RIYADH – Saudi Arabia is planning to set up an air warfare center in the Eastern Province similar to the one at Nellis Air Base in US, according to Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Forces Prince Lt. Gen. Turki Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz.

In an interview to Al-Arabiya TV channel on Sunday, Prince Turki said the Center will be supported with qualified staff and sophisticated system.

Prince Turki recently paid a visit to Nellis Air Base in the US where he was received by Commander of Air Operations Center, who accompanied the prince to the Thunderbirds Air Show team’s aerobatics.

He said the Saudi air forces are keen to send large groups of air and technical crew to study and get training abroad and hold joint exercises in the Kingdom and overseas.

The 12-day Red Flag 2019 exercise kicked off in the US state of Nevada last week with the participation of the Saudi Royal Air Force.

The force is taking part in the exercise with its latest F-15SA Eagle fighters and entire technical and support crews.

The US Air Force, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, the Netherlands and Singapore are participating in the exercise at the Nellis Air Force Base.
