Tristar to host road safety seminar in Riyadh

March 20, 2019

UNITED Stars, the Tristar Group’s joint venture in Saudi Arabia, will be hosting a one-day seminar designed to further create awareness on how to reduce the number of traffic accidents.

The ‘KSA Road Safety Seminar’ will be held in Riyadh on April 17 at the Hyatt Regency and will focus on heavy duty truck driving. United Stars is providing transport services to a number of petroleum and chemical companies with products ranging from fuel to MTBE (methyl tertiary-butyl ether), caustic soda and other chemicals and gases such LIN, CO2 and argon.

Participants will get the opportunity to hear from Rob Burgon, executive head of training at UK-based Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents or RoSPA. He will discuss ways on how to implement international best practice for reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on the road.

RoSPA has enjoyed a long-standing and well established presence within the UK health and safety market for 100 years. Because of its reputation more and more international organizations are calling upon the services of RoSPA, which has a Road Safety Department that produces a vast array of advice and information on all areas of road safety and accident prevention.

Burgon said: ‘“RoSPA delivers driver training all over the world and drivers have one thing in common, they all make mistakes! Through Managing Occupational Road Risk, together we will make a difference. It will tie in with how we all can save lives, improve employees and their employers’ performances.” — SG
