RIYADH — Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor general of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), met with Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Ashwal, Yemen’s minister of technical education and vocational training, at KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh.

The two officials discussed the current state of technical education and vocational training in Yemen and how the Kingdom could further support this important sector through KSrelief.

KSrelief already provides assistance with curriculum development and programs for technical and vocational centers and community colleges in addition to supporting training programs for technical and vocational staff.

In a press statement following the meeting, Al-Ashwal expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit KSrelief and meet with Dr. Al-Rabeeah. He also thanked the Saudi leadership for their ongoing support for the people of Yemen.

He explained that during the meeting he had given Dr. Al-Rabeeah an overview of his ministry’s responsibilities and its readiness to implement more programs and projects related to early recovery, improving livelihoods, training youth and empowering women.

Al-Ashwal pointed out that 70 percent of Yemen’s population was comprised of young people between the ages of 18 and 40, and that his ministry must enable them to improve their skills and abilities to support themselves and their families, and also to keep them from being radicalized. — SG
