NEW YORK — The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has affirmed that in line with the goals of the International Labor Organization (ILO) to provide decent jobs to larger segment of the society, the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 has kept pace with changes in the structure of the Saudi economy, transforming it into a diversified economy.
Therefore, the Kingdom seeks to increase employment rates and reduce the unemployment rate to 7 percent or less, so as to provide jobs to a larger number of Saudi youth.
Saudi Arabia also promoted women’s participation in the labor market and supported employers in the private and non-profit sectors to generate sustainable opportunities and develop the necessary skills of the labor force for the labor market.
This was highlighted in the Kingdom’s speech on the occasion of the United Nations celebration of the 100th anniversary for the establishment of the International Labor Organization (ILO), which was delivered by Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Dr. Khalid Al-Manzlawi. — SPA
