Isuzu D-Max 2019 passes grueling tests

JEDDAH — Isuzu Motors International Operations Thailand Co, Ltd organized a discovery trip for a number of media and press reporters specialized in automotive industry in the Middle East to the Kingdom of Thailand, the home land of D-Max & mu-X.

Main highlighted activities of the trip were Thailand Motor Show, adventure at Isuzu 4x4 lands and visiting the Isuzu factory that works in accordance with the latest modern technologies and the sophisticated manufacturing process of Isuzu new “D-Max” in the presence of Isuzu factory engineers and officials where they eloquently illustrated all assemble process and modern technologies introduced in the assembly line.

In Thailand, the center of 1-ton pickup truck and the biggest market of Isuzu, D-Max, has achieved a sales of around 150,000 units last year. Not only in Thailand, the vehicle also been accepted in many markets around the world due to its high capacity. It can be used for businesses for its strong performance and great capabilities or as a family car for its latest safety systems, strong cabin structure from high tensile steel, and a luxurious, comfortable and sporty design. From Thailand, D-Max is exported to more than 100 countries in every continent around the world, including big markets like UK, Australia, Middle East, and etc.

The amazing D-Max 4WD model went through 7 different test-drive stations in Pathum Thani Province.

In one station called High Hill for its 40° vertical slant, D-Max evinced its torque where it climbed the slope without touching the acceleration paddle.

Isuzu D-Max 2019 is now available in Arab Gulf states and Jordan with three different diesel engines. The 2.5L engine produces 109 and 136 horsepower respectively, and the third one is of 3.0L engine produces 163 horsepower, with each engines turbo charged. This is in addition to a new D-Max variant that is equipped with a 1.9L engine and produces 147 horsepower available in UAE, only, due to the regulation.

The new Isuzu D-Max is available in 4WD and 2WD systems and fitted with fuel-economy diesel engine.

The car succeeded in driving from the west coast of Saudi Arabia, starting from Jeddah waterfront in the city of Jeddah to the capital Riyadh in the center of Saudi Arabia as a first stage, and continuing its journey down to the East Coast in Dammam. Results were outstanding, D-Max succeeded to run the distance of a total 1,386 km which SR30 worth of fuel only, which certainly proves its strength in fuel-economy. — SG
