JEDDAH —
Six trainees of technical colleges won awards in 47th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.

Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Khoja, a trainee from College of Communications and Electronics in Jeddah won the gold medal for his invention — a smart waste container.

Majid Saeed Al Harbi, a trainee from the Riyadh College of Technology, won the gold medal for his invention of an automatic open and close cup. He also acquired a special award from Universitatea Lucian Blaga din sibiu, Romania.

Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Harbi, a trainee from College of Communications and Electronics, Jeddah, won the silver medal for his invention, an economical air conditioner.

Ali Ayed Al-Shahri, a trainee from Dammam College of Technology, won the silver medal for his invention about power generation from sand. He also received a special award from Technopol Moscow, Russia.

Ayed Saliban Al Harbi, a trainee from the Riyadh College of Technology, won the bronze medal for his invention, a smart dumpster.

Walid Mohammed Abdul Qader, a trainee from Madinah College of Technology, won the bronze medal for his invention of an easy-to-fold table.

More than 800 inventions from 40 countries were competing in 21 fields of industry, communications and health, in addition to the participation of international research organizations, relevant entities and specialized companies. The participation in the competition was an extension of the 10th Technical Innovations Competition held by the Technical & Vocational Training Corporation, in which trainees from Technical Colleges and Institutes participated.
