JEDDAH —
The Jeddah chapter of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association (AMUOBA) recently organized a “free health camp” for the AMUOBA community in the city. Medical specialists and surgeons shared useful health care information at the camp, organized in cooperation with Al Abeer Medical Center at the center’s Aziziyah branch.

The program took off with the recitation of a few verses of the Holy Qur’an by Maulana Farooq Sahab.

AMUOBA President Nooruddin Khan also shared and emphasized certain health tips in his welcome address. ‘‘Morning walks should be included in our daily routine for a fresh start every day,’’ he said. He also lauded the valuable advise offered by well-experienced doctors.

Dr. Ghulam Mustafa suggested how to prepare our body and adjust our medication routine beforehand to welcome the fasting month of Ramadan with good health and spirit.

Dr. Maheshwari discussed about hernia and other different issues and suggested their precautions too.

Dr. Wajid, pediatrician, spoke about younger generation’s addiction to latest scientific gadgets and ways and means to avoid the harmful habit.

Lastly, Dr. Ansari, physiotherapist, shared information regarding right and wrong physical postures at workplaces. He also gave a few tips on daily exercises.

Ghazanfar Ali Zaki of Al Abeer Medical Center has a big share in the success of this event and he has promised to bring more of such health care packages for the benefit of the community.

Approximately 150-200 family members enthusiastically participated in the health check-up. Doctors advised them various medicines and consultation during the camp. A free physical examination along with free blood sugar, blood pressure BMI and ECG tests were also provided by the clinic.

Ateeq Siddiqui, AMUOBA Jeddah general secretary, anchored the event in his own unique and ubiquitous style.

Jawed Akhtar, Zaheer and Zaki put their endless efforts and dedication in making the program successful.

Zaki proposed a vote of thanks to show gratitude toward Al Abeer Medical Center and the guests who attended the event.

The camp was a successful collaboration between AMUOBA Jeddah and Al Abeer Medical Center, under the guidance and leadership of Nooruddin Khan and Ghazanfar Ali Zaki.
