TNTJ Riyadh holds blood donation drive


RIYADH — The Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath (TNTJ) Riyadh Chapter organized its 88th blood donation camp in coordination with King Saud Medical City (KSMC) here.

More than 101 donors participated in the drive and 90 units of blood were donated. The camp got wide response from the donors in which people from Tamil Nadu and neighboring states came out in droves to donate.

Riyadh Chapter TNTJ Blood Donation Campaign Coordinator Mohamed Riyadh said, “TNTJ conducts blood donations regularly in coordination with KSMC and KFMC hospitals for the last 16 years and so far, we have conducted 87 camps. Further, TNTJ donors organize every year a campaign especially for the requirement of Haj and Umrah pilgrims, and these camps are especially conducted for Umrah pilgrims.”

In recognition of TNTJ Voluntary Donation Camps, the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia has awarded the body for their services. TNTJ has been appreciated number of times every year including on International Blood Donors day.

“By the grace of almighty Allah, Riyadh TNTJ chapter continues to be highest number of voluntary blood donors for the last 16 years continuously,” Riyadh said.

KSMC Blood Bank Chairman Dr. Ibrahim Al Deaile provided full support to TNTJ volunteers and thanked TNTJ organizers for organizing such kind of noble work continuously.

Riyadh TNTJ President Haja Mohaideen said, “TNTJ organizes voluntary blood donation campaign according to the verse of noble Qur’an Chapter 5 verse 32 ‘Whoever saves a life will be as if he has saved entire mankind’.”

Mohaideen added, “Our organization regularly conducts such camps across Gulf chapters as well. We hope that, such camps gives an opportunity to understand true teachings of Islam and create social harmony among religion and razes hatred against Muslim and Islam specially.”

Further to that, on May 3, TNTJ will specially conduct Mega Blood camping donation for upcoming Umrah pilgrims also at the KFMC blood bank. — SG
