RIYADH — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, met Speaker of the Yemeni House of Representatives Sheikh Sultan Bin Saeed Al-Barkani and members of the parliament at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The Crown Prince wished them success in serving Yemen and its people.

Speaking on the occasion,

Al-Barkani thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Crown Prince, as well as the government and people of Saudi Arabia for their sincere support for the Yemeni people.

He also referred to the cooperation that the Yemeni deputies enjoyed in resuming parliamentary business after an interruption of four years following the Houthi-led coup. “This step represented a historic achievement for the restoration of the legitimate government and thwarting the coup plot,” he said noting that the deputies have succeeded in breaking the siege imposed on its members by the coup gangs.

Al-Barkani pointed to the danger of Iran, which threatens not only Yemen but also the Gulf states and the whole region, highlighting the role of the Decisive Storm and the Restoration of Hope operations. Al-Barkani called on the coalition to continue supporting Yemen politically, economically and militarily until it is liberated from the Houthi militia. — SG/SPA
