JEDDAH — The Saudi Art Council has launched Shara Art Fair 2019, following the overwhelming success of its previous four editions.
The five-day fair, which will run until May 23, will bring together a conglomerate of trendsetting art galleries and enablers to showcase the work of their artists. The event is being held at the Saudi Art Council’s headquarters in Gold Moor Mall, Jeddah.
Shara Art Fair aims at giving art lovers the opportunity to see and experience the latest developments in the Saudi arts scene. This year’s edition will see participation from Al-Mansouria Foundation, Athr Gallery, Hafez Gallery, Noor Gallery, Inside/Outside Artistic Collective and Dukkan Dar Al-Hekma.
The gathering will display a wide spectrum of artistic styles and expressions from national and international artists.
What is special about this year’s fair is that the Saudi Art Council is hosting and supporting independent artists who do not belong to any galleries, such as Amena Tinwala, Hera Abed, Rae Mearkle, Zainab Mumtaz.
Shara Art Fair is made possible by Al-Mansouria Foundation and UBS, the world’s leading wealth fund manager, as part of their long-term collaboration with the Saudi Art Council. The fair is also participated by Medd Cafe. — SG
