JEDDAH — A Saudi man who disappeared after stabbing his 15-year-old daughter four times has turned himself in voluntarily to the police a week after the incident at their home in south Jeddah.
The father, who regretted his rashness in a fit of rage, took his daughter quickly to King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah where the doctors were able to save her life.
He said he wanted to kill his daughter because of family differences.
The man escaped on seeing police in the hospital and then disappeared without trace. He lived with his family in a south Jeddah district.
Doctors said the father's decision to quickly take his wounded daughter to hospital was key to saving her life.
They said the knife did not hit the girl's major inner organs, including the esophagus or the main artery.
The health affairs described the health condition of the girl as stable and said she was properly healing.
