Saudi Gazette report
Riyadh — Huthis terrorists will pay a heavy price for targeting civilian installations and facilities without regard to international humanitarian laws, which give special protection to civilian objects.
Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki issued these warnings after Saudi Air Defense Forces shot down early Sunday morning a drone carrying explosives launched by the Iranian-backed militias targeting King Abdullah airport in Jazan, which is used by thousands of citizens and expatriates.
“We affirm our legitimate right to defend our country,” he stressed.
The attack comes just days after the Arab Coalition’s spokesperson confirmed that the Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted a drone carrying explosives launched by Houthis in an attempt to target Najran airport.
Maliki said Houthis deliberately try to target dignitaries, civilians, and civil facilities systematically.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has invited Gulf and Arab leaders to convene emergency summits to discuss the implications of this week’s attacks against the Kingdom and neighboring United Arab Emirates.
The meetings are set for May 30 in Makkah.
Four commercial ships were sabotaged off the coast of the United Arab Emirates last Sunday, and two days later drones attacked oil installations west of Riyadh.
