MAKKAH —
The Ministry of Haj and Umrah has warned local companies and establishments serving domestic pilgrims against renting buses from outside the Kingdom to transport their pilgrims during the upcoming pilgrimage.

The ministry also asked the companies to enter the data about the buses electronically latest by Shawwal 15 (June 18) and instructed them not to write VIP on the buses.

The ministry said the bus load should not exceed the number of passengers specified for every bus and asked the companies to provide a reserve bus for every 500 pilgrims.

It said the companies should not use the buses for any other purpose than transporting pilgrims who are licensed to perform the Haj this year and asked them to obtain the necessary licenses for their buses from the concerned authorities to enter the holy sites.

The ministry, on the other hand, decided that the rent for tents in Mina should be paid latest by Shawwal 20 (June 23).
