RIYADH —
About 72 percent of 216,800 managers and directors employed by private sector companies and establishments in Saudi Arabia were Saudi nationals, according to statistics compiled by the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) from its records for the first quarter of 2019.

The GOSI report, quoted by the business daily Al-Eqtisadiah, said the number of the Saudi managers and directors was 155,559 against 61,241 foreigners.

It said 95.6 percent of women holding senior positions in the private sector establishments including banks were Saudi nationals. There were 45,338 women managers while the number of expatriate women who held executive positions numbered only 2,020.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development had set aside 19 jobs including the position of managers in both the public and private sectors to be filled only by Saudi nationals.
