Woman, daughter mysteriously found dead in their Jeddah house

JEDDAH — A woman in her 50s and her four-year-old daughter were found dead in their house in a traditional neighborhood of Al-Rabwah district in central Jeddah, police said on Tuesday.

Another of the woman's daughters was found alive inside the house and was rushed to hospital.

The Al-Nuzha police said the neighbors informed them of a bad smell emanating from the house. There were no signs to indicate that the house was inhabited.

The officers who investigated the source of the bad smell said there were no signs of violence and forcible break-ins as the doors and windows of the house were intact.

They said the bodies of the woman and her daughter had started to decompose. The other girl was still alive and was rushed to the hospital.

Forensic experts were summoned to the scene look for any evidence of crime to indicate the cause of death.

The police also questioned people of the neighborhood and made other investigations to ascertain the nationality of the dead woman.

The police said there were no signs of resistance or any bruises on the bodies of the woman and her daughter.
