World boxing superstar Amir Khan to light up Al Johara arena during Jeddah Season

JEDDAH — Sports fans in Saudi Arabia and from around the world are looking forward for the big Jeddah Season event at King Abdullah Sports City's Arena, where they will witness the special Fight Night between the global sports star and two-time world champion Amir ‘King’ Khan, and the Australian boxer Billy The Kid, in a fierce competition to win the first ever championship organized by the World Boxing Council in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Fight Night will take place on Friday, July 12. It is a golden opportunity for boxing fans who will be there to enjoy the thrills, excitement and suspense.

During the week leading up to the big Fight Night, the boxers will appear at a number of gyms in Jeddah, including Fitness Time Gym. The shows will be attended by other famous personalities, including Qusai Kheder, Badr Al-Zaidan and Nasser Al-Odah, during a week full of star-studded personal appearances.

Tickets for the major sporting event will be sold at Virgin Mega Stores as well as through the sharek.sa platform and Jeddah Season's official website Jeddah.sa.

Boxing is a major attraction for the Saudi community at the moment, especially in the wake of the medals won in foreign competitions by male and female Saudi champions.

Considering this, the organizing committee of Jeddah Season chose to invite the world champion and other martial arts celebrities in order to ensure Boxing Week is an all-star sports event.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently experiencing wide interest in sports with the spread of clubs and public sports facilities, supported by numerous initiatives aimed at spreading the culture of sports and mobility to contribute to realizing the objectives of Vision 2030 to create and stimulate a vitally active community.

The events of Boxing Week come as part of the Jeddah Season Festival, which is planned to effectively contribute to enriching the lifestyle of Saudi society and help achieve the goals of the Quality of Life program, which is a key part of Vision 2030, as well as create developmental opportunities, highlight the Kingdom as one of the world's leading tourism countries, and support, operate and manage entertainment activities, attractions and events in order to make tourism one of the most vital industries that will diversify and enrich the national economy. — SG
