RIYADH —
After the resounding success of the Jeddah Season, the Riyadh Season will start on Oct. 11 and continue for about two months. Final curtains will be drawn on the event on Dec. 15.

The season will consist of a number of sports, musical, theatrical, fashion shows, circus and various other entertainment activities.

A number of international restaurants will open on the occasion in addition to a huge number of eateries offering local cuisines.

About 20 million repeated visitors, including a million from Riyadh, are expected to visit the festival.

The show will extend on an area of 14 million sq. meters at a cost of about SR1.5 billion and be held at 11 different locations.

Among others, the locations will include King Fahd International Football Stadium, Wadi Hanifah and others.

The Riyadh Season is considered the biggest entertainment event in the capital city.

The event is part of the ‘Saudi Seasons 2019’ launched by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH).

The “Saudi Seasons 2019” initiative is a result of efforts of several government departments that worked since mid-2018 to launch the initiative under the leadership of a higher committee chaired by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy prime minister, minister of defense, chairman of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs and chairman of the events’ committee — including: the Ministry of Culture, General Authority for Entertainment, General Sport Authority and the Saudi Exhibition and Convention Bureau, in coordination with all relevant institutions.

The “Saudi Seasons 2019” program includes several activities that were specially designed to several regions and cities of the Kingdom that enjoy cultural, tourist and historical characteristics for the first year as an experimental test, where the 2020 seasons will be announced at the end of 2019.
