Partial lunar eclipse to be seen tonight

RIYADH — People across the Kingdom are set to witness a partial eclipse of the moon starting at 11:02 p.m. on Tuesday, reaching its peak at 12:31 a.m. and ending at 02:00 a.m. early on Wednesday.

"This partial eclipse will also be seen in Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and South America, spanning over 178 minutes," said Dr. Hassan Bin Mohammed Asiri, head of the Department of Astronomy and Space at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.

He pointed out that it is expected that another lunar eclipse would take place in the middle of third month of the year 1443 H, but it would not be visible in the Kingdom. — SPA
