Jawazat chief receives 2nd batch of Malaysian pilgrims

JEDDAH —
The Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for Makkah Route Initiative and Director General of Passports (Jawazat) Maj. Gen. Sulaiman Bin Abdulrahman Al-Yahya received on Friday night the second batch of Malaysian pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah within the Makkah Route Initiative, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Saturday.

The Malaysian pilgrims were also received by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah for Haj Affairs Dr. Hussein Al-Shareef; and the Director of Haj Affairs at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Mazin Bazuhair.

The Malaysian pilgrims were received with roses, dates and Zamzam water. The pilgrims expressed happiness over the warm welcome and easy travel procedures. This has saved them a lot of time, enabling them to perform their rites with ease, comfort and peace of mind. They prayed to Allah Almighty to safeguard the security of the Two Holy Mosques and the Kingdom’s leaders.

In a statement, Maj. Gen. Al-Yahya expressed happiness with the beginning of the arrival of pilgrims from countries benefiting from the Makkah Route Initiative — Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia, thanking Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for the care and attention accorded to the pilgrims.

Maj. Gen. Al-Yahya inspected the progress of services being provided to the pilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and welcomed the pilgrims arriving from various Islamic countries.

The head of the Malaysian Haj mission, Dato Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman, thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad for their care and interest in serving the pilgrims, praising the implementation of Makkah Route Initiative in Malaysia.

Inspection of

Madinah airport

Earlier, Maj. Gen. Al-Yahya also inspected the Haj terminals at Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.

Maj. Gen. Al-Yahya checked the work mechanism in the terminals and completion of entry procedures for pilgrims, as well as the speed and precision in work. He also met with the commanders, officers and privates of the participating forces to discuss issues related to the systems and their readiness, and the manpower and their tasks in serving the pilgrims.

Al-Yahya asserted that the passport offices at Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport have been provided with well-trained qualified staff and advanced technology to facilitate procedures for receiving pilgrims.

He urged all Jawazat staff at the airport to double their efforts and stressed the importance of receiving the pilgrims in a nice way and to be proud of serving the Guests of Allah.
