MINA — Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Province and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has approved the proposal put forward by Makkah Municipality to name the road leading to Makkah from Jeddah after Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

The decision was made in recognition of the Crown Prince’s efforts to promote development in the Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and in appreciation of his efforts to serve Islam.

Prince Muhammad Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Road is one of the most important and vital roads in Makkah from the west side, as the road extends from Al-Shimaysi Checkpoint to the Grand Mosque for 23 km through Makkah Gate and the intersection of Makkah-Jeddah Highway with the Fourth Ring Road. Along the Prince Muhammad Bin Salman Road, several projects are being supervised by the Makkah Municipality, mainly a number of investment sites and housing projects in Makkah. — SPA
