A state-of-the-art technology is being used in the maintenance of the Ka’ba according to the best international specifications and expertise. The routine maintenance works included maintenance of stone walls and their edges in some areas, using specialized and high quality material, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The rings of the Ka’ba, which hold the kiswa (cover) in place, have also been fixed, prior to lowering the cover of the Ka’ba at the end of the annual Haj season. The lower part of the kiswa is raised 3 meters at the beginning of the Haj season every year for its protection.
The presidency uses latest technology and the best international standards material in its maintenance of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, thanks to the utmost care of the Saudi government in this respect.
