RIYADH — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, told US President Donald Trump Saturday the Kingdom was "willing and able" to respond to any terrorist attacks and deal with the consequences, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

"The Kingdom is willing and able to confront and deal with this terrorist aggression," Crown Prince told Trump during a phone call.

Trump, in response, reasserted his country's readiness to cooperate with the Kingdom, by all means conducive to maintain its security and stability, reaffirming that the negative effects of the attacks (on two Aramco's facilities) on the US economy as well as the world economy.

Later, the White House said that the United States was committed to keeping oil markets well-supplied in the wake of an attack on Saudi Arabian oil plants by Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi group.

"The United States strongly condemns today's attack on critical energy infrastructure," White House spokesman Judd Deere said in a statement. "Violent actions against civilian areas and infrastructure vital to the global economy only deepen conflict and mistrust."

Deere confirmed that Trump had spoken earlier with Crown Prince Muhammad. — Agencies
