Al-Mutairi is CEO of National Competitiveness Center

The Council of Ministers on Tuesday approved assigning Dr. Iman Bint Habas Al-Mutairi, assistant minister of commerce and investment, to the duties of the CEO of the National Competitiveness Center (NCC).

This assignment was given to Dr. Iman after reviewing the report of the minister of commerce and investment and chairman of the board of NCC.

Al-Mutairi, holder of PhD in biochemistry from Bristol University of UK, has previously worked as advisor to the minister of commerce and investment in her capacity as the General Supervisor of the Executive Committee for Improving the Performance of Private Sector Business, Taysir.

She started her career as an assistant professor of human genetics at Harvard University.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the Cabinet session, Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah said that the Council endorsed the strategy of the Saudi Grains Organization.

The Cabinet also approved amendments to Article 30 of the Capital Market after reviewing the report of the chairman of the Capital Market Authority (CMA), the recommendation of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) and the decision of the Shoura Council.

It has been decided to continue the work of the Committee for the Resolution of Disputes of Securities and the Appeal Committee for Disputes of Securities in their current form until they are reconstituted in accordance with the amended Article 30.

The Cabinet also decided that the CMA and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) would establish a mechanism for cooperation between them pertaining to practicing preservation of securities by the entities subject to the supervision and control of SAMA, and another mechanism for cooperation between them in the implementation of regulatory powers on the members of the Securities Depository Centers and Securities Clearing Centers that are subject to SAMA supervision and control.
