RIYADH — Najm for Insurance Services has organized a conference entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Combating Insurance Fraud” on September 18, 2019 at the Fairmont Hotel in Riyadh, in collaboration with its strategic partner SAS, the world's leading data analytics software and services company and the largest independent exporter in the business intelligence and artificial intelligence market.

Representatives of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), insurance companies, and stakeholders attended the conference, which aimed to brief attendees on Najm’s efforts toward enhancing automation throughout its various activities, and providing new services based on artificial intelligence technologies, as well as launching plans to combat insurance fraud.

An introductory video on how Najm handles traffic accidents, from the moment of the accident to the settlement of claims, was presented at the conference. The attendees were also briefed on the partnership details between Najm and SAS, as well as its anti-fraud program.

On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Mohammad Al-Suliman, CEO of Najm, said Najm faces many challenges in the automotive claims sector, especially in terms of the insurance fraud case.

He also reiterated Najm’s keenness to position combating fraud at the heart of its new strategy in order to strengthen and protect the Kingdom’s insurance sector through automating various services and products and basing them on data and artificial intelligence technologies.

Najm for Insurance Services has developed a well-considered anti-fraud plan. As a result of this plan, about 4,500 fraud cases valued at SR47.8 million have been investigated and proven, and around 24,000 cases of semi-fraud were suspected after verification, estimated at about SR254 million, from the beginning of 2017 until August 2019. Najm combats fraud through an integrated panel of members who have undergone adequate training in this field. The company's anti-fraud system will be completed within two years. — SG
