RIYADH — Saudi labor courts have accomplished their goal of resolving a case at first instance within 30 days, with the average statistics of 22.94 days and 3.37 hearings, announced the Saudi Ministry of Justice (MoJ).

“We will continue to raise the bar on labor court performance, including registration of claims, efficiency of e-services, standardization of cases, and paperless appeal,” said the ministry.

Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani had earlier emphasized the ministry's adoption of a digital framework for labor justice, and selection of judges based on qualifications, proficiency, and expertise.

Last month, Minister Al-Samaani ordered the launching of a package of development services in the enforcement sector, aiming at facilitating the procedures for beneficiaries.

The new services target both the claimant (or the claimant’s representative) and the defendant, where the application is referred to the enforcement panel and treated without the need to visit the enforcement courts and panels.

The ministry said the enforcement sector includes several services’ development programs that aim at finding innovative technical solutions and promoting the digital capacities of enforcement courts, to help beneficiaries and facilitate their procedures. These development programs are in line with the ministry’s systematic move toward digital transformation.

The ministry said the new services aim at expediting and automating the procedures and saving beneficiaries effort, time and money.
