JEDDAH – The Malaysian Jeddah Bowlers (MJBowlers), in cooperation with the Consulate General of Malaysia Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, had organized a bowling tournament in conjunction with the National Sports Month and Malaysia Sports Challenge 2019 program by the Malaysian Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), which was held in Bowling City, Sultana Mall, Jeddah recently.

The tournament was open to all Malaysians working and living in Saudi Arabia. Over 100 participants from 28 teams, and 23 children, aged 5 to 14 years old, joined the event, with participation from Malaysians living in Yanbu, Riyadh, Madinah, Rabigh, Makkah and Jeddah.

The event was officiated by Tuan Alauddin Md. Nor, the consul general of Malaysia in Jeddah. The event’s main sponsor is Saudi Arabia’s major fast food restaurant chain Al Baik Food System Co. Ltd., together with Zahafiz Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Asiana Bistro, Ultra Kirana Sdn. Bhd (UKSB), Verdi, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), In Saff Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, Kedai Asia and Komuniti Malaysia Hijazi (KMH).

Team 'BelasahAje' represented by Wan Kamal Azlan, Azizan, Azhanawati and Rozana emerged as champion with 2562 pinfalls, beating team X-Mint (2478) and Verdi (2221). In the men's category, Mohd Shahrizan Mohamad Saberi won the best player (734 pinfalls), meanwhile highest pinfalls was won by Muhammad Suhaimie Leong (280 pinfalls). In the women's category, Azhanawati Abdul Wahab won the best player (679 pinfalls), as well as highest pinfalls (248 pinfalls).

In the children's category, Nur Adriana Humaira Fazlee emerged as champion, followed by Afeq Mohd Husaini and Muhammad Adrian Ariff Noor Azmel. The Malaysian Jeddah Bowlers (MJBowlers) is comprised of Malaysian professionals and families working and living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, brought together by the mutual love for the sport of bowling.
