RIYADH —
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development is inclining to make the private sector responsible for the implementation of the national employment programs, local daily Al-Watan reported on Tuesday quoting informed sources.

The ministry has three Saudization programs which are: Employment in the private sector (Tawteen), employment in the health sector and employment in the tourism sector, entertainment, communications, IT, transport and logistical services.

Sources said making the private sector in charge of executing the Saudization programs comes at a time when unemployment rate among Saudi citizens has reached about 12.3 percent according to the bulletin of the labor market for the second quarter of 2019.

They said the ministry is under fire for not properly executing the plan to nationalize jobs in the Kingdom and for not being able to execute the employment strategy which is designed to supervise employment in the Kingdom according to a clear vision that ensures jobs in the private sector for Saudi men and women.

The strategy should be implemented in three phases covering the time span of 25 years.

The sources said the strategy will ensure the Saudis with enough jobs and good pay.
