About 1,000 journalists to attend 2-day media forum starting Monday

RIYADH —
With more than a thousand journalists from 32 countries participating, the first two-day Saudi Media Forum will start Monday in Riyadh. The forum, under the motto "Media Industry: Opportunities and Challenges,” is being organized by the Saudi Journalists Association.

Chairman of the forum, Mohammed Fahd Al-Harthi, said the forum will host leading journalists and media men to discuss the new issues and their relationship with the communications development in the Arab countries and the world at large.

Al-Harthi said more than 60 speakers will highlight the print, digital, visual and audio media in addition to media production and advertisement.

He said, among others, the participants will include Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Minister of Commerce and Investment Majed Al-Qasabi, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority Turki Al-Ashaikh, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Osama Nuqali and many other leading local, Arab and international journalists.

Al-Harthi said the forum’s 40 sessions and 30 workshops will discuss various subjects, including the organizational, cultural, practical and technical challenges facing the media industry. The forum will also discuss the role of media content in shaping public opinion, the role of the industry’s digital transformation in promoting competitiveness, and successful international experiences related to investment in the industry.

Al-Harthi said during the forum, the Saudi media award will be presented to the winners in various fields of information.
