Winter at Tantora welcomes worldwide stars to perform greatest hits

AlUlA — Winter at Tantora has announced that golden-voiced tenor José Carreras will headline the festival’s Spanish Prestige weekend Jan.9 –11, 2020, bolstering the festival’s towering opera program, which already includes the operatic pop quartet Il Divo Jan.17, 2020 and the legendary Andrea Bocelli Jan. 31, 2020.

The festival also announced a double bill of musical acts for its Modern Legends weekend, with the disco-soul-funk legends Kool & the Gang, supported by Sister Sledge, headlining on Feb. 27, 2020 ahead of much-anticipated performances by Lionel Richie and Craig David on Feb. 28, 2020.

José Carreras will perform some of his greatest hits during his appearance at the festival on Jan. 10, 2020 as part of the Spanish Prestige week.

The festival will also welcome the soul and funk music of Jamiroquai and Nile Rodgers & CHIC Jan. 24, 2020 as well as the Latin Pop beats of Enrique Iglesias supported by The Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes & Tonino Baliardo Feb. 21, 2020.

Fans of classical music will also have much to cheer with one whole weekend Jan. 2 – 4, 2020 dedicated to Beethoven.

One of the greatest composers of all time, the German maestro’s work will be feted with performances by Renaud Capucon, Kit Armstrong, Edgar Moreau, Guillaume Chilemme, Adrien La Marca and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse.

In addition to the magical notes of Beethoven, AlUla will also play host to the compositions of Omar Khairat Dec. 27, 2019 and the genre-defying music of Yanni Feb. 7, 2020.

The festival will celebrate “A Love Legend from the Oasis of AlUla” — the enduring love story of Jamil and Buthayna, performed by Caracalla.

With much to experience, visitors can map out a one-day or weekend-long trip in line with their time and budget preference.

For fans short on time, the One-Day Gold, Platinum and Diamond packages offer return flights from Riyadh or Jeddah, transportation around AlUla, a visit to a heritage site and reserved seating at the headline performance. Prices for the one-day packages start from SR3,155 per person, including flights.

The weekend packages, divided into Gold, Platinum and Diamond based on budget, include two nights’ accommodation, return flights from Riyadh or Jeddah, transportation around AlUla, excursions to heritage sites and reserved seating at the Maraya Concert Hall for headline performances.

Prices for the weekend packages start from SR6,600 per person. Weekend guests can also bolt-on themed experiences in line with their interests, such as AlUla from Above (adventure), Authentic AlUla (culture) and Gastronomy (cuisine).

Starting on Dec. 19, 2019 visitors can also choose from a number of awe-inspiring experiences, from ranging from vintage aircraft flights and vintage car experiences to traversing age-old routes as part of the AlUa Trails or heritage sites experiences.

The festival also brings the local community alive with Farm experiences, the Winter Park and the luxury restaurant and café pop-ups, which includes La Cantine du Faubourg, Annabel’s and Sass Cafe.
