JEDDAH —
The Jeddah police are currently investigating a complaint from a Saudi mother that a teacher in a private school has badly beaten her son using a stick, a report in local daily Al-Madina said on Monday.

The mother also alleged that the unidentified teacher had verbally abused her son who is now in a bad psychological condition refusing to go back to his school.

The students' father, Mohammed Asiri, said he was at the southern border last Tuesday when the incident happened.

The father has also filed a similar complaint against the teacher accusing him of badly beating his son.

He said while he was at the southern border, his wife called him and told him that their son came back from his school with bruises all over his body.

He said he raised a complaint to Al-Kandara police in Jeddah which immediately opened an investigation in the case.

The father said his son was sent to King Abdul Aziz Hospital in south Jeddah for examination.

He said the hospital's report proved that there were bruises on his son's back and shoulders and also on the right knee.
