Saudi Arabia condemns attacks on US embassy in Baghdad

RIYADH - Saudi Arabia expressed its condemnation of the attacks that targeted the United States Embassy in Baghdad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The Ministry described these attacks as a violation of international norms and conventions.

Earlier this week, An official Saudi source stated that the Kingdom condemns increasing terror attacks in Iraq. Specifically, the attack on International Coalition Forces near Kirkuk by Iranian backed militias, using over 30 Katyusha rockets, and resulting in the death of an American contractor and several members of the Iraqi armed forces.

Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces these terrorist attacks, and thereby confirms that these attacks violate the sovereignty of Iraq and undermine its security, stability, and directly affects US - Iraqi anti terrorism efforts.

The Kingdom calls on the Iraqi government and the US-led international coalition forces to investigate the events on December 27, and take appropriate measures to prevent the recurrence of hostilities supported by the Iranian regime.

Saudi Arabia calls for concerted and sincere efforts to preserve the security and stability of Iraq. - SG
