JEDDAH —
Deputy Emir of Makkah Prince Badr Bin Sultan said that Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman is a man of action and that the young Saudis are pivotal to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

He said this while addressing the “Responsibility Dialogue” session organized by Okaz newspaper on the occasion of the first anniversary of his appointment as deputy emir of the Makkah region.

“We are in an important phase, represented by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, launched by the Crown Prince, through which he has proved that he is a man of his actions that precede his words. The main pillars of the Vision are young Saudi men and women,” he said.

He added, “In conformity with the ambitious Vision, the Makkah Emirate has devised its strategy, which will be approved by the middle of 2020.”

Prince Badr said that the Makkah province will soon have several mega projects, of which the announcements will be made once the studies are completed.

He said the Jeddah Mayoralty is currently implementing 88 projects as part of the first phase of rainwater drainage scheme.

The deputy emir said stressed that the emirate is working to prevent the expansion of undeveloped neighborhoods, as well as to curb the encroachment on government land and convert them illegally into residential plots.

He said that undeveloped neighborhoods remain a risk to public health, security and community.

“The development project in the Holy Capital has contributed to the removal of more than 9,000 random real estates, and work is now going on in the Al-Kadwa and Al-Nakasa neighborhoods to develop them in an organized manner,” he said.

Prince Badr said that it is a great honor for him to work under the administration of Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. “He is a mobile university and also a source of enthusiasm for all of those working under him. I am lucky to work with him.”
