Private clinic owner should be a full-time Saudi doctor

The Council of Ministers on Tuesday approved the amendment in the Private Health Institutions Law under which the owner of the clinic shall be a Saudi doctor having the same specialization of the clinic work. The amendment also stipulates that the owner shall be the clinic’s supervisor who is working full time for it.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah said the Cabinet took the decision to amend paragraph two of Article 2 of the law after reviewing the report of the minister of health and examining two earlier decisions taken by the Shoura Council in this regard.

The Cabinet approved the addition of a new paragraph to the 11th Article of the Premium Residency Law that stipulates that a family continues to enjoy the rights and benefits that it had in accordance with paragraph two of Article 10 of the law, in the event of the cancellation of the Premium Residency of its holder in accordance with subparagraph of Paragraph 1 of Article 9 of the law provided that this will be up to the end of the its validity period.

The Council also endorsed the amendment of Article 25 of the Civil Service Law, permitting to award contracts to carry out functions of some jobs in line with the regulations.

Al-Shabanah said the Cabinet approved the transfer of power to regulate the distribution of dry gas and liquid petroleum gas for residential and commercial purposes from the Electricity & Co-generation Regulatory Authority (ECRA) to the Ministry of Energy.

The Cabinet also approved the Voluntary Work Law. It also authorized minister of foreign affairs or his deputy to sign a draft protocol on establishing diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Zimbabwe at the level of ambassador.
