Microsoft ‘the digital transformation partner’ IPTC

DHAHRAN — "Microsoft Arabia" has announced its participation in the Twelfth International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), as a partner for digital transformation. The conference is hosted by "Saudi Aramco" at Dhahran Expo, and aims to spread the best digital capabilities, new and existing practices of the "oil and gas" sectors, which are aimed at emphasizing the importance of the value chain and maximizing the value of assets associated with these two vital sectors.

The conference will be joined by a number of regional energy ministers, the CEO of Saudi Aramco Amin H. Nasser, energy decision-makers from around the world, and senior executives in national and international oil companies.

The President of Microsoft Arabia, Eng. Thamer Alharbi, pointed out that the selection of Microsoft by the most important conferences related to oil technology and petroleum industries is an affirmation of its central role in digitizing the most important economic sectors worldwide, especially in light of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s tendency to include the digital transformation in its oil industry through Saudi Aramco, which intersects with the goals of Vision 2030 program related to the development of "national industries and logistics".

Alharbi invited the representatives of the oil and gas industry participating in the conference and the accompanying expo to take advantage of the applications of Microsoft Arabia Company and the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution and the accompanying digital transformation, indicating that this will help them to anticipate the future regarding expectations about the production process, determine its priorities, and manage reservoirs Sustainably, and fulfill its obligations with its customers.

The regional director of energy and manufacturing at Microsoft in the Middle East and Africa, Omar Saleh, confirmed that their partnership with the Twelfth International Conference on Petroleum Technology (IPTC) will highlight the digital capabilities and cloud leadership of the company in the oil and gas industry, adding: "There is a set of success stories in this framework with a number of partners specialized in this vital industry. "

Saleh also pointed out that the conference is a global opportunity to discuss industry affairs and trends, exchange expertise and experiences, and present the latest technologies and innovations that Microsoft has proven its digital ability to stimulate the Energy industry.

Microsoft Arabia - as the sponsor of the digital transformation of the event - will host all digital and technical sessions via (ePosters) which will allow conference participants to upload the conference poster to electronic posters and to the scientific poster library on the Internet, and then share it with the public, by providing Open access library.

It is reported that the number of attendees in the Twelfth International Conference on Petroleum Technology (IPTC) will exceed 8000 participants and visitors who will show up to learn about new and emerging technologies in front of specialists and decision-makers in the energy field, and in an exhibition area of 6900 square meters that includes more than 250 companies displaying the latest products and technologies. The importance of the event at the regional and international scales comes from the sponsorship of the conference from four large industrial organizations and associations, which are the American Society of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. — SG
