MAKKAH – Prof. Abdullah Bafail, the president of the Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), honored Dr. Hanaa Yamani, supervisor general of the General Administration of Digital Transformation, for winning the 17th Middle East Future Leaders Excellence Award. The award was instituted by the Institute for the Middle East Excellence Award in the “Future Leaders” category in the education sector.

While congratulating Dr. Hanaa on her remarkable achievement, the UQU president stressed the importance of enhancing the global competitiveness of human resources in the government sector, its contribution in creating a culture of leadership, and in supporting the participation of young cadres in the institutional decision-making process.

For her part, Dr. Hanaa lauded Prof. Bafail’s support and his keenness to enhance the leadership vision of the university for it to achieve educational and administrative excellence. She also highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation and solidarity among the members of the university community, as well as the need to harness their capabilities to achieve their strategic goals and accomplish the best results possible.

Dr. Hanaa was honored last Thursday during a ceremony held in Dubai for her contribution in supporting UQU’s excellence. The award was also in the acknowledgement of her efforts in upgrading the level of knowledge competence and the effective role she played for the university in making a qualitative leap by accomplishing tangible achievements, thereby qualifying as the only candidate for the award in the education sector at Saudi university level.

It is noteworthy that the Institute for the Middle East Excellence Award has been conducting research and field studies on government and private institutions for over 26 years.

The award aims to identify the best technological, economic, financial, humanitarian, social, intellectual and leadership achievements and honor the outstanding leaders, decision-makers and institutions that have been able to bring about change to consolidate the foundations and principles of leadership, contributing significantly to raising community awareness.
