JAZAN — Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed, deputy emir of Jazan region, accompanied by President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri, inspected the new King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Airport project here, and reviewed the project work progress onsite and its latest stages of development.
Before that, GACA president visited Prince Mohammed Bin Nasser, emir of Jazan Region, and briefed him on the stages of work in the new airport in the presence of his deputy. The emir expressed the importance of the project, its vitality and the need to complete it in a way that serves the people and the region in general.
Al-Mansouri visited the current airport with the aim of overseeing the progress of work in the first phase, which included the runway and aircraft parking bay. The onsite tour also included visiting service facilities related to the airport.
The visit to the Jazan region comes after several previous visits to the Kingdom’s regions by Al-Mansouri, during which several projects were announced, such as the opening of the new Arar airport, the announcement of the expansion of Hafar Al-Batin airport, the approval of designs for the new Abha airport, and the signing of the Al-Baha airport contract. — SG
